Chapter summaries:

Chapter one: We meet our hero, Zeddy! Brilliant yet frustrated, he is a member of an alien race living on the planet Za (located in the Antennae Galaxies). The Zanian empire trains and sends out numbers of soldiers to expand their control over the universe, and we meet our hero on the day he graduates from military school. One problem: the other student he's being paired with is female. Why is this a problem? Because all he can force out of his mouth when a girl is around is idiotic babbling sounds. The chapter ends just before the pair recieves their first assignment as Zanian soldiers...

Character bios

Major characters:

Zedear (Zeddy, Z) Makiaere. Race: Zanian

The main character of this story. Anti-social, awkward, brilliant, and completely nerdy.

Nezebel (Nezzy) Rezerian. Race: Zanian

Our heroine. None too bright (cue blonde jokes), but skilled with people (of her own social standing, that is).

Jennifer (Jen) Fall. Race: Human

She attends college with her brother, Leo. Smart, stubborn, and hot headed. Always after the unknown.

Leonardo (Leo, Lennie) Fall. Race: Human

Brother and best friend to Jen. He shares his sister's intellect, yet is somewhat of a ladies man. Despite that, he tries to always be there for his little sister.

Zsigmond Makiaere. Race: Zanian

Zeddy's father. A decorated and now retired conqueror, he enjoys being famous. A lot. Seriously.

The Sovereign Mzaia. Race: Zanian.

Also called Empress. She is the head of the entire Zanian empire- yet not much is truly known about her as a person. She is a respected and brilliant leader.

Minor characters:

Jen's mysterious friend Katie. Race: Human?

Zeddy and Nezzy's military school director. Race: Zanian.
